The “patron of the peloton” (POTP) essentially refers to the figurehead of any bunch ride. He’s not necessarily the best rider, but he is the most respected and the unspoken leader. He’s the guy who shouts “piss stop!” and everyone stops. He is the guy who is able to say “single up!” and everyone singles up. Nearly every bunch includes one rider like this and it’s always handy to know who this person is.

Every now and then we come across some wicked ride locations. Melrose located in the outskirts of South Australia has trails from Blue to Black Diamond. But as any mountain biker would know, single track is where its at, and the crew at Over The Edge Bike shop can hook you up with over 80kms of singletrack! We managed to talk the the team at Over The Edge to find out more about this Mountain Biking heaven....

Join the Brookvale Saturday MOrning shop ride for a great hit out. The ride goes from Brookvale to Church Point. Up Macarrs Creek Road. From here we either go reverse Akuna Bay back down to Mona Vale or all the way up McCarrs Creek Road top gate at Akuna then back to Mona Vale then back to Brookvale. There are options for a shorter loop should you not want to do the full loop.

This is generally regarded as a recovery ride. Ride from Mornington to Rye and return. Pace can vary depending on how everyone is feeling but generally avg 27kmh

Generally three groups nominally graded as A, B, C. Four different rides with a different ride each week varying in length from 36km - 46km. Avg speed for B group is between 27km - 30km depending on ride.
