About the Ride: This ride is 55kms at an average speed 30km to 32km per hour speed. We call this the “no drop ride”. This includes punctures and mechanical break downs. No one is left behind.
We ride out along Castlereagh Rd to Richmond where we do a loop around Richmond Air Base and then return home along Castlereagh Rd to Penrith. At the “Col de Castlereagh” (top of the hill) with about 10kms to Penrith the bunch usually speeds up resulting in the group dividing up into a fast group and a slightly slower group. It’s at this time someone may take a chance at a break away driving the pace up. Testing your legs out if you want or you can just stay with a group that best suites your pace. There is a quick finish at the end for those who like to have a friendly sprint but this is not compulsory. Once back into Penrith many in the group will stop at the local coffee shop across from Lifecycles.
