The ride travels up the coast along the bike paths until they end. Then the group go on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and pick a canyon to climb up. There is a lot of car traffic on the highway; so, if you are afraid of car traffic you might want to avoid most of Los Angeles. The climbs are pretty tough, but there are some who only stay on the highway (mostly flat.) During the California winter the ride is slow, but during the summer expect race pace.
The Donut Ride loops counter clockwise around the Palos Verdes Peninsula with the exception of one short climb that cuts across the hill (about 12-20 minutes.) This is a fast paced ride. Some riders may be over aggressive or still be new, so be ready for stupidity. The ride regroups at the top of the climb and breaks into smaller groups.
We are actively searching for bunch rides in America, Road, Track Session or MTB.
